Jeff
Livin, baseball coach, is beginning his
thirteenth season at Angelina College.
Before arriving at AC, Coach Livin was the head coach at Wayland
Baptist University from 1991-1995.
He was elected as the Sooner Athletic Conference Coach of the Year
in 1995. Prior to that, he served as an assistant coach at
Southwest Texas State University and Southwestern University.
Coach Livin played collegiate ball at Southwestern University. He
was selected in the 15th round of the
1984 draft and played for the Houston Astros organization for four
years.
In his tenure at Angelina College Coach Livin has had 26 players
selected in the major league draft.
Seventeen former Roadrunners have gone on to play professional
ball.
In 2005 Coach Livin was honored as Region XIV North Coach of the
Year.
Coach Livin and his wife Cindy have three children, Cassidy,
Jessie, and Tanner.

Martinez |

Richard
Martinez, assistant baseball coach, is
beginning his third season at Angelina College.
Martinez attended AC from 2001 until 2002 and then transferred to
Texas State University where he graduated in 2005 with a
bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sports & Science.
Martinez played for the Roadrunners during 2001 and 2002. He hit a
combined .346 for the two seasons. In 2002 he hit .401 in 182
AB’s. He earned All-Conference and First Team All-Region as well
as Defensive Player of the Year.
Martinez was a member of the TSU baseball team in 2003 - 2004. He
served as a student assistant in 2005.

Gary
Stallard, Sports Information Director and Marketing &
Development Coordinator, is in his second season as SID at
Angelina College. Following a career as a U.S. Marine,
Stallard completed his bachelor’s degree at Stephen F. Austin
University, where he majored in English and Journalism. Over
the past seven years, he has worked as a sports
writer/columnist/photographer for the Lufkin Daily News, with
which he covered AC basketball, among other sports. Stallard
has won several awards for writing, including the Golden Hoops
Award for basketball writing in 2003, Regional Sports Writer
of the Year in 2004, and the Texas Press Association’s
first-place award for column writing in 2007.
Stallard also taught English at Lufkin High School for four
years before assuming his role at AC. He has two daughters,
Jaime’ and Jordan, and lives in Lufkin. |
