Welcome to Angelina College’s Institutional Effectiveness
and Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) website. The QEP is a key component of
the SACS (Southern Association of Colleges
and Schools) requirements for
Reaffirmation of Accreditation. The purpose of the QEP is to enhance the
programming and services for our students to create an environment more
conducive to learning. The QEP is an ongoing process that should
complement the institution’s planning and evaluation process
(Institutional Effectiveness).
It is our determination that the role of critical thinking is the key to
successful learning outcomes for all Angelina College students. This has
been evidenced in our Student Success (STSU 0100-0300) course where
critical thinking is introduced to our incoming freshmen.
The focus of our QEP includes the following goals: (1) Establishing a
common understanding of critical thinking among college administration,
faculty, and staff (2) Implementing critical thinking skills across the
curricula and (3) Ensuring Angelina College graduates will be able to
apply critical thinking skills and strategies in their academic,
professional and personal lives.
Institutional Effectiveness activities do not occur in isolation, but
involve all administrators, faculty, staff and students. The Institutional
Planning and Evaluation Council (IPEC) works closely with the QEP Advisory
Committee to identify areas for evaluation, design assessment strategies,
and to guide the institution in carrying out its mission.
Angelina College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the
Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate
degrees. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane,
Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about
the accreditation of Angelina College. |
