Objective 1.1 Strategies:

1. Expand and enhance Adult Learning Center operations, especially English as a second language, creating a seamless transition into post-secondary education.


2. Attract additional students from both within and out of the service area by adding appropriate sports (softball) and other student activities.


3. Have full-service teaching-centers in Livingston and Nacogdoches.


4. Add a new Health Careers Center, a University Teaching Center, and a Language and Learning Institute (Adult Education).


5. Renovate the Health Careers I building for Liberal Arts and Science and have minor renovations to the Student Center, Administration Building and Library in order to accommodate expanded services.


6. Add support and auxiliary facilities (update student housing, parking, and a baseball/softball complex) as needed to attract and serve new groups of students.


7. Increase scholarship and endowment distributions by 50%.

Expected Outcome(s):
1.1.1. Student enrollment in credit courses will increase each academic year.


1.1.2. Enrollment will increase for area residents enrolled in community services courses each academic year.


1.1.3. Enrollment will increase for recent high school graduates each academic year.


1.1.4. The number of enrolled students over the age of 35 will increase each academic year.


1.1.5. The percentage of enrolled ethnic minorities will increase each academic year.


1.1.6. Enrollment will increase for all counties in our service area each academic year.


1.1.7. The percentage of enrolled academically and economically disadvantaged students will increase each academic year.
