Obejctive 2.1 Strategies:
1. Expand appropriate programs and classes for our service area based on need.

2. Continue to improve learning outcomes, program completion, and student retention rates.

3. Expand and improve student advising in every division.

4. Administer the Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE).

Expected Outcome(s):

2.1.1. Eighty percent of students completing the CCSSE survey will rate quality of instruction as good or excellent.

2.1.2. Credit and community service curriculum will reflect at least 80% of WIA priority occupation needs in the Deep East Texas Workforce Area.

2.1.3. Eighty percent of students completing the CCSSE will rate the quality of student services as very satisfied or somewhat satisfied.

2.1.4. The number of contact hours completed at the end of each semester as a percentage of enrolled contact hours will increase and be above state norms.

2.1.5. The number of students who earn degrees or certificates will increase annually.

2.1.6. The number of students who successfully complete 12 or more hours and transfer to a university will increase annually.

2.1.7. The percentage of students who pass external licensure exams will increase annually.

2.1.8. The percentage of academically disadvantaged students who satisfied TSI obligation in (1) two years if they tested above deviation and (2) three years if tested under deviation will increase annually and be above state norms.

2.1.9. The percentage of full-time, first-time credit seeking undergraduates who graduate with a degree or certificate or are still enrolled in Texas public or private education after six academic years will increase annually.

2.1.10. Students completing the CCSSE will rank our college’s emphasis on critical thinking skills equal to or above consortium and national norms.
