QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • One year experience serving in a clerical position in a multi-tasking education or public service setting.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Preferred:

  • Associates degree.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Excellent listening, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of basic clerical duties and responsibilities.
  • Able to think critically, to carry out written or oral instructions, and to resolve problems in standardized situations.
  • Ability to work effectively and communicate professionally under pressure.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, including those with disabilities.
  • Understand how to work successfully as a team within all levels of the organization and know how to contribute to the mission of the college.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The position will report to the Director of Admissions/Registrar and Assistant Registrar for job responsibilities and other College related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual. Essential duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance;
  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Service-oriented attitude.
  • Receive visitors and students, answer routine questions and refer others to appropriate person;
  • Provide support for the Roadrunner Central, Advising and Testing check in process;
  • Provide support for Who’s Next check in;
  • Provide necessary forms to students as needed;
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds, including those with disabilities.
  • Be able to support other office functions by understanding and being able to perform the duties of other office personnel;
  • Assemble highly confidential and sensitive information;
  • Manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload while paying attention to detail;
  • Adhere to the Angelina College Policies and Procedures manual;
  • Maintain work area in neat and orderly manner;
  • Perform satisfactory quantity and quality of output;
  • Provide superior customer service;
  • Work successfully as a team; and
  • Represent AC in a professional, positive and personable manner.

WAGE AND HOURS:
$10.00 per hour, 19.5 hours per week. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for the successful candidate.
