The Angelina College Language Arts and Education Department will host the East Texas English Language & Literacy Conference Oct. 6. The theme of the conference is English Literature in the College Classroom. Registration is open through Sept. 22.
Conference organizer and English Instructor, Renee Williams said, “We’re trying to reach English faculty at other community colleges and universities, and our topics will likely also appeal to English graduate students on a teaching track.”
The following presentation topics are planned: Literature in the Classroom, The Writing Process in the Classroom, Freshman Composition Co-requisite & Developmental Models that Work, and Interdisciplinary Methods.
“These presentations should be of interest to anyone who teaches or will be teaching freshman composition or sophomore literature courses. We have presenters coming from five states and eleven different institutions,” Williams said.
The cost of registration is $35 for students and $45 for faculty. Contact Renee Williams at (936) 633-3280 or email@example.com for more information.
