NETWORKING
Angelina College offers courses leading to Microsoft MCP, MCSA, and MCSE certification.
The Network Support Technician AAS degree, Network Administration Certificate of Completion, and Networking Certificate of Completion train students for a variety of jobs including, network administrator, network engineer, systems administrator, and network technician.
Jobs for the Future
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics indicates that while most job sectors are predicted to decline from 1996 to 2006, the computer/data processing industry should grow by 108 percent.
According to Community College Week, "While hiring has slowed, the technology industry continues to grow. As wireless technologies and the integration of hand-held devices, cell phones, and television evolve, IT workers will continue to be in demand to develop, install, service and instruct implementers on how to use these technologies."
A marketing report prepared by Cisco Systems verifies that the networking industry worldwide has more jobs available than applicants to fill them.
The networking degree and certificates at Angelina College provide specialized training to prepare you for immediate job openings that exist in today's technology job market, as well as those projected to dominate the job market in the 21st century.
Why Should You Seek Microsoft Certification?
The Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) credentials are performance-based industry certifications that measure an individual’s mastery of the skills necessary to successfully design, implement, manage, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 2003 platforms. Microsoft training enhances higher-level skills required by employers for emerging occupations
By earning one or more of the Microsoft credentials, you demonstrate exceptional personal commitment, discipline and hard work, as well as the skill level required to pass the exams. Microsoft certifications have long been recognized by the industry as proof of what an individual can do.
Becoming Microsoft certified distinguishes you as an outstanding professional and a valuable resource. Microsoft certifications give you the credential you need to prove that you have the comprehensive skills needed to support the Microsoft Windows 2003 Server platform, and this helps you gain a competitive edge in the job marketplace.
How Can You Begin Your Training?
Step 1: Select and enroll in the appropriate course(s).
The Business Division at Angelina College offers both preparatory courses and Microsoft Server 2003 courses. Both day and evening courses are available based on demand.
Depending on your level of knowledge and experience, you may start with the ITNW 1325 (Fundamentals of Networking Technologies) course.
Students coming into the Networking certificate or the Network Administration certificate should have strong foundational skills mastered before enrolling in the first course. Division Director and/or Instructor approval is required prior to enrolling in any networking course.
Step 2: What happens after completing the course(s)?
Each course (with the exception of the first) is structured to aid you in immediately obtaining certification through testing with an authorized testing center.
By passing one of the core exams, you earn the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) credential which demonstrates your mastery of that product. In addition to certification preparation, courses taken can be applied toward Angelina College’s Network Support Technician AAS degree, Network Administration Certificate of Completion, or Networking Certificate of Completion.
Accreditation
Angelina College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science degrees and Certificates of Completion.
What Can You Expect?
