Faculty, Staff, Retirees Honored at Service Awards Ceremony


Angelina College board members and administrators recognized faculty, staff and retirees during the annual service awards luncheon held on the A.C. campus Aug. 20.

Alex Ranc, speech instructor, received the Promising Faculty award which recognizes the faculty member who has proven to have outstanding teaching promise as acknowledged by their professional peers, as well as proven themselves to be dedicated to the mission and core values of Angelina College.

Contessa James, Financial Aid/Veterans Affairs advisor, received the Staff Excellence Award which recognizes a staff member for going above and beyond while serving Angelina College in an exceptional way.

Patty Donaldson, health and physical education instructor/ropes course coordinator, and Larry Greer, music instructor, both received the Distinguished Faculty Award which recognizes those teaching at Angelina College over a period of six or more years who have demonstrated their commitment and devotion for higher education as well as to the mission and core values of Angelina College.

Occie Cluff, computer information systems instructor, and Candace Powell, librarian, received their pins for 35 years of service to A.C.

Kenneth Street, Information Technology senior director received his pin for 30 years of service to the college.

Nelda Poskey, switchboard-receptionist received her pin for 25 years of service to A.C.

Those receiving pins for 20 years of service to the college were Larry Greer, music instructor; Michael Standifird, machine tool technology instructor; Judith Wright, senior director of Distance Education; Peggy Denby, Testing Center manager; and Lori Feldpausch, School of Business and Technology administrative assistant.

Those recognized for 15 years of service were Teresa Blangger, Testing Center administrative assistant; Jason Lankford, biology instructor; Jennifer Ragsdale, assistant director of Information Technology; and Patricia Wars, human services instructor.

Those receiving pins for 10 years of service to the college were Jennifer Baldauf, enrollment advisor; Casey Davis, director and instructor of medical sonography; S. Jason Douglas, biology instructor; Graciela Escobedo, administrative assistant for Distance Education; Juana Moran, custodian; and Dr. Stacey Pfluger, assistant vice president of Academic Affairs.

Those recognized for five years of service include Dawn Armstrong, paralegal instructor; Andrea Barrett, chemistry/biology instructor; Yvette Byrum, A.C. Polk County Center administrative assistant; Crystal Carter, Financial Aid advisor; Amy DuBose, vocational nurse instructor; Wayne Dubose, Information Technology specialist; Casey Graham, admissions clerk; Veronica Hendry-Clegg, library circulation clerk; Kelli Kirkpatrick, School of Business and Technology administrative assistant; and Dr. Tom McKinney, history instructor and Distance Education instructional specialist.

Retirees recognized include Richard Bumpus, Information Technology technician; Jose Cantu, groundskeeper; Mitchell Glover, groundskeeper; Nita Hall, Community Services Division administrative assistant; Ronnie Hall, mathematics instructor; Sellestine Hunt, associate dean of Student Services; Pati Lightfoot, Fine Arts Division and Angelina Arts Alliance business coordinator; Dr. Karen McBee, Fine Arts Division associate dean of instruction; Robbie Roach, art instructor; Willie Smith, Adult Education aide; Gary White, diesel technology instructor; David Wilkerson, Emergency Medical Services director/instructor.

Beckie Compton, music instructor, was named Minnie Stevens Piper professor nominee.

Alicia Andreatta, government instructor, and Vicky Milstead, child and family development instructor, were recognized for attending the Texas Community College Teaching Association’s Great Teaching Round-Up.
