Sunday, October 25, 2009 7:30 p.m. (single tickets on sale Sept. 25) Birdhouse Factory by Cirque Mechanics is performed an extraordinary troupe of Cirque du Soleil, Pickle Family Circus, and Moscow Circus veterans who transform the mundane into the magnificent. When this creative team dreams up a factory, it’s a wild and wonderful workshop where the machines are circus props and the workers are acrobats, dancers, contortionists, and clowns. Artful, funny, and breath-taking, the show thrilled Broadway audiences for six weeks last December.
Sunday, November 1, 2009 7:30 p.m. (single tickets on sale Oct. 1) One of the hottest tickets in contemporary American dance, David Parsons and his company are high-energy, supremely polished artists who breathe life and vitality into Parsons’ inventive, witty, theatrical, and humane choreography. Set to the music of Miles Davis, Earth, Wind, and Fire, Dave Matthews Band, and others, this is one of the happiest dance events you’ll ever see!
Cantus Monday, December 14, 2009 7:30 p.m. (single tickets on sale Nov. 16) Cantus is recognized as one of the finest professional male vocal ensembles in the country. “All Is Calm” is a theatre/choral piece that features actors and singers recreating the true story of Christmas on The Western Front in 1914, when soldiers on both sides of WWI put a temporary stop to the war to celebrate the holiday together. Told through letters, journal entries, and songs, this amazing story reinvests “Peace on Earth” with its true meaning.
Sunday, January 24, 2010 7:30 p.m. (single tickets on sale Dec. 16) For almost sixty years, Ballet Folklórico de México has dedicated itself to the preservation and performance of dance from diverse Mexican folk cultures. This stunning performance combines live music, elaborate choreography, and ornate costumes to showcase the colorful tradition and folklore of Mexico. Be dazzled by fantastic artistry and pageantry!
Thursday, March 11 and Friday, March 12, 2010 7:30 p.m. (single tickets on sale Feb. 11) Winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Hairspray is the Broadway musical comedy phenomenon that tells the story of 16-year-old Tracy Turnblad’s dream of dancing her way onto TV’s most popular show in 1962 Baltimore. Filled with laughter, romance, and enough deliriously tuneful songs to fuel a nonstop platter party, Hairspray is a delight for all ages.
Friday, April 16, 2010 7:30 p.m. (single tickets on sale Mar. 22) Whether you remember him as J.R. on “Dallas”, Tony Nelson on “I Dream of Jeannie”, or the son of Broadway superstar Mary Martin, Larry Hagman will charm and fascinate you with this warm, funny, and candid self-portrait. A multi-media presentation using vintage family slides, rare film clips, and outtakes supports Larry’s anecdote-filled evening, which wraps up with a question-and-answer with the audience.
Thursday, May 13, 2010 7:30 p.m. (single tickets on Apr. 13) Ann Hampton Callaway has enthralled audiences not only as an amazing jazz vocalist and pianist, but also as a songwriter/arranger and Broadway actress.
