VOCATIONAL NURSING PROGRAM
The Vocational Nursing Program - Crockett, Lufkin and Jasper campuses prepares the graduate to independently perform basic nursing skills in non-complex situations and to assist the registered nurse or physician in complicated circumstances.
Courses begin in the spring semester and conclude at the end of the fall session for a total of 45 semester credit hours. A certificate of completion is awarded upon successful completion of course requirements. Graduates are eligible to apply for licensure by examination through the Board of Nurse Examiners.

The Vocational Nursing program is accredited by the
Texas Board of Nursing (BON).

Lufkin Vocational Nursing Information Sessions:
The second Monday of May, June, and July 2013 at 5:30 p.m. in Health Careers (by the gym) Room 101
Jasper Vocational Nursing Information Sessions:
The second Monday of May and June 2013 at 5:30 p.m. in the Jasper Teaching Center
Crockett Vocational Nursing Information Sessions:
The second Monday of May and June 2013 at 5:30 p.m. in the nursing classroom of ETMC Crockett

Admission Criteria:

Gain admission to the college.

Attend a mandatory information session at the campus of your choice to obtain an application.

Pass the A2 Admission Test with the following minimum scores:
Math - 60%
Reading - 60%

A2 Admission Test dates
-
Submit completed application packet by designated deadline.

Submit American Heart Association CPR Health Care Provider card with application
-
Complete Hepatitis B vaccine series by first clinical day (Requires 6 months)

Applicants will be ranked and selected on:
a. Composite A2 Admission Test Scores
b. Completion of ALL requirements by posted deadlines.
- Applicants will be notified of admission decision by letter by the end of October.
Applicants for the Vocational Nursing Programs are selected in October. Acceptance into the vocational program is limited and based on completion of all admission criteria by the deadlines.
