ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY POSITION: DIVISION DIRECTOR OF TECHNOLOGY/WORKFORCE “ACADEMIC CHAIR” EMPLOYMENT DATE: Spring 2012 – Search Extended QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate required; will consider master’s degree in workforce area. A minimum of two years community college administrative, three years workforce related teaching experience and three years direct business/industry work experience. Must possess demonstrated competence in education, administration and teaching. Experience as a community college administrator preferred. Experience working with business/industry, service agencies, community groups and local workforce development boards required. Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and managerial skills. Must be able to work with diverse faculty, staff and student populations. Must possess excellent computational, English oral and written communication skills. JOB DESCRIPTION: Teach one class each semester. Responsible for planning, organizing and supervising all programs of the division. Provide academic advising; provide leadership and support to full-time and part-time faculty, on campus and at teaching centers in nearby towns. Prepare, supervise and manage Perkins, Texas Skill Development, and other workforce related grants and reports. Provide staff assistance to other administrative units implementing “Guidelines for Instructional Programs in Workforce Education”, “Workforce Education Course Manual” and serve the college as primary Perkins contact with Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Investigate, develop, implement and coordinate technical and workforce education programs. Must be committed to continuous improvement of the division. Assume other college related duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Angelina College Policies and Procedures Manual or required by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. CONTRACT & SALARY: A ten and one-half month administrative contract with benefits as described in the Angelina College Policies and Procedures Manual. Competitive salary based on faculty salary schedule commensurate with qualifications and experience with excellent employee benefits.
