POSITION: Part-Time Instructor – Adult Education

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Basic computer skills.

• Effectively work with a diverse and multicultural student body.
• Work collaboratively.
• Maintain confidentiality of work related information and materials.

• Maintain a professional demeanor.
• Valid Texas driver's license.

Preferred Skills
• Certified Texas Teacher
• Bilingual

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Instruct youth and adult learners in the areas of reading, writing and math.
• Work with learners on activities related to their individual and collective goals.
• Plan lessons in advance, for ABE and GED level learners, using appropriate instructional materials and techniques for developing reading, writing, math and critical thinking skills.
• Develop curriculum that includes themes relevant to students' lives, interests and work-related goals.
• Promote student engagement and collaboration in learning.
• Administer baseline and progress testing.
• Prepare student individualized educational plans.
• Participate in Texas Education Agency (TEA) required professional development.
• Attend individual supervision and team meetings.
• Fulfill other program needs as deemed necessary by the Coordinator and the Director of Adult Education.

SALARY: $16.00 per hour. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for the successful candidate.
