POSITION: DIRECTOR, SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS DIVISION EMPLOYMENT DATE: August 2010 – Search Extended QUALIFICATIONS: Doctorate required. Master’s in a relevant discipline (ex. Science or Mathematics) required. A minimum of two years administration in education and at least three years teaching experience required. Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and managerial skills. Must have demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse student populations. Must possess excellent English oral and written communication skills required. Knowledge of articulation agreements required. Experience in community college environment preferred. JOB DESCRIPTION: Academic chair who is responsible for planning, organizing and supervising all university parallel/transfer programs of the division; promote articulation agreements with senior colleges and universities; provide academic advising; provide leadership and support to full-time and part-time faculty, on campus and at teaching centers in nearby towns. Must be committed to continuous improvement of the division. Must teach a reduced load of courses as assigned by the Vice President and Dean of Instruction. Assume other college related duties and responsibilities as outlined in the Angelina College Policies and Procedures Manual or defined by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the COC Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. CONTRACT & SALARY: Ten and one-half month administrative contract. Salary based on experience and education in accordance with overall college policy in addition to excellent employee benefits.
