POSITION: Part-time DL Lab Technician – Evenings

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for technology support in classes utilizing interactive television and computer technology. Duties include:

a) maintaining, operating, trouble-shooting and repairing technology equipment supporting distance learning. This includes interactive video equipment in classrooms and labs; associated network components such as operating systems software and application software, telecommunications lines; and other classroom/lab equipment such as PCs, printers, projectors, recorders, monitors, cameras, etc.,

b) coordinating with external agencies and technicians (e.g. NETnet & Region Service Centers) to keep interactive video technology operational and supporting academic and training programs,

c) assisting distance learning office with administrative tasks (e.g. answering instructors’ and students’ questions, faxing, distributing schedules and other items, and occasional testing), as assigned by the Distance Learning Coordinator, and

d) assisting the Blackboard Support Technician with internet software questions.

QUALIFICATIONS: Additional Microsoft certifications or demonstrated proficiency, in telecommunications networking and in using Microsoft Window XP and/or 2003 or 2007 Vista, Excel, and/or Blackboard (LMS) is preferred.

CONTRACT AND SALARY: $7.75 per hour based on experience and qualifications.

SCHEDULE: 4:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m., Monday – Thursday
