ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

POSITION: Full-time Program Coordinator for the Diagnostic Sonography Program – REVISED April 2008

EMPLOYMENT DATE: Spring 2008

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum required: (1) current licensure to practice as a Registered Medical Diagnostic Sonographer (RDMS) in the State of Texas; (2) Bachelors degree in radiography or a related field preferred; (3) five years clinical experience required in abdominal, small parts, obstetrics and gynecology; (4) Multiple sonography registries desired, but abdominal and ob/gyn required; (5) prior teaching experience in a sonography program preferred; (6) must possess the ability to interact with a diverse student population; (7) excellent English, oral and written communication skills required.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsibilities include supervising and guiding the development of and changes in the sonography program according to standards set by the college or external accrediting agencies; preparing of reports, self-studies and site visits; faculty evaluation; class and clinical visits; coordination of all programs’ activities; planning, implementing, and supervising students in the classroom/laboratory setting; planning, implementing and monitoring program budget; and acting as a liaison between the program, the programs’ advisory committee, the community, and clinical affiliates. This position reports to the Director of Health Careers for teaching responsibilities. Perform other duties and responsibilities required of all full-time faculty members as outlined in the Angelina College Policies and Procedures Manual.

CONTRACT & SALARY: Ten and one-half months contract. Competitive salary based on Angelina College Salary Schedule in addition to excellent employee benefits. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for successful candidate.
