ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

POSITION:
DIRECTOR, HEALTH CAREERS DIVISION

EMPLOYMENT DATE:
Late Spring or Early Summer 2008

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have (1) current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in State of Texas; (2) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; (3) Master's Degree in nursing or education, if master's degree is in a discipline other than nursing, a minimum of six semester hours of graduate level nursing courses required. A minimum of five years full-time experience, including demonstrated competence in education and administration and teaching. Experience in community college environment required. Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and managerial skills. Must possess computer skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for planning, organizing and supervising all programs of the division; act as liaison with program accrediting agencies; teach a reduced course load as assigned; provide academic advising; provide leadership and support to full-time and part-time faculty, on campus and teaching centers. Must be committed to continuous improvement of the division and development of new programs. Assume other college related duties and responsibilities as outlined in the job description or as required by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Texas Board of Nursing.

CONTRACT & SALARY:
Ten and one-half month administrative contract. Salary based on experience and education in accordance with the college salary schedule in addition to excellent employee benefits. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for successful candidate.

SCHEDULE:
