ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

POSITION:
Program Coordinator, Health Occupations Community Services Division

EMPLOYMENT DATE: May – June 2008

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s Degree required; Bachelors strongly preferred. Texas RN licensure in good standing required. Minimum of three years employment in nursing, including one year of long term care facility nursing experience required. Experience in teaching adult learners in a continuing education or in-service setting required. Experience in developing and administering continuing education programs preferred. Experience in nursing administration, orientation, workshop and consultation services preferred. Equivalent employment experiences will be reviewed. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and interact with diverse population. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Program Coordinator will assist the Community Services Division in the coordination, development and delivery of existing and new programs offered on and off-campus. A special area of concentration will be health occupations programs. Responsibilities include insuring compliance with outside agency rules governing programs; preparation of applications and reports for program approval and operations; advising and assisting instructors in teaching and locating instructors to teach; monitoring relationships and conditions in outside health facilities in which the division has clinical agreements for teaching; and assisting in the scheduling of offerings. Additional responsibilities will include conducting instructor training to insure continuity and quality of programs, assisting students with training problems, and conducting registration on and off-campus. Other duties as assigned. The coordinator will report to the Vice President of Community Services. The program coordinator will also have a teaching assignment in Community Services.

CONTRACT & SALARY: Twelve months contract position as described in the Angelina College Policies and Procedures Manual. Must be able to work combinations of daytime and evening hours, with occasional weekend assignments. Moderate travel required. Salary commensurate with education and experience according to Angelina College’s Salary Schedule and with excellent employee benefits. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for the successful candidate.
