POSITION:
Machine Tool Technology Instructor

EMPLOYMENT DATE: Spring 2010 - Search Extended

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate of Applied Science required and may be in machine tool technology, manufacturing, industrial, electronics or electromechanical technology. Documented outstanding professional experiences related to teaching may be considered instead of a degree. All applicants must document a minimum of five years experience in computer numerical control (CNC) programming and computer-aided manufacturing/machining (CAM). In addition the successful applicant will demonstrate a minimum of three years experience troubleshooting and repairing motor control systems (AC & DC) and have a solid understanding of electrical principles and safety practices. The successful applicant with less than a bachelor’s degree will pursue a BAAS. Must possess ability to relate to diverse student population. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Teach machine tool (CNC and CAM) manufacturing related courses in Machine Tool Technology (primary assignment) and Electromechanical Technology (secondary assignment) to include: blueprint reading, industrial math, technical math, machining processes, computer numerical control theory and lab, and electrical courses as assigned. Work with local industry to determine customized course content. Assignment will include afternoon and or evening classes. The position is administratively responsible to the Director of Technology and Workforce for teaching responsibilities and other College related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual.

CONTRACT and SALARY: Nine month contract but willingness to teach a portion of summer with overload pay. Salary assigned according to salary schedule depending on education and experience. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for successful candidate.

Screening of applicants will begin in March and continue until the position is filled. A classroom presentation will be required of all finalists for the position.
