ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

POSITION:
WOMEN’S SOFTBALL COACH AND INSTRUCTOR

EMPLOYMENT DATE: Late Spring 2008, when available

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree with 18 graduate hours in Physical Education strongly preferred. A Bachelor’s Degree with teaching qualifications in either technical/occupational or developmental courses will be considered. A minimum of five years of teaching and coaching experience required. Head coaching experience or assistant college experience required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must possess the ability to interact with a diverse student population in success-oriented approach.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Coach Woman’s Softball and teach freshman and sophomore level courses (.6 teaching load) and provide experiences in designated discipline. Also be responsible for the “start-up” of the softball program for initial competition in 2008 - 2009. Assignment may include summer, evening, and off-campus classes. This position will report to the Athletic Director for coaching, recruitment, and program development, and the Director of the Liberal Arts Division for teaching responsibilities and other college related activities as outlined in the Angelina College Policies and Procedures Manual.

CONTRACT & SALARY: Ten and one-half month contract. Salary assigned according to salary schedule commensurate with education and experience. Proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States must be verified for successful candidate.

SCHEDULE: A letter of interest, completed application form, a resume, and college transcripts are required for an applicant to be considered. A classroom presentation will be required of all finalists for the position. Security sensitive position subject to a background check.
