One of the longest standing clubs on the Angelina College campus is
the Rodeo Club.
Founded in 1968, the club is as important today as it was when the
school first opened.
The Rodeo Club promotes intercollegiate rodeo on a
national scale and increases and maintains student interest in the
American West.
Club members get involved in a variety of community activities.
Volunteers from the club assist with the Forest Festival, Red Ribbon
Week, Bull Bash and the Angelina County Youth Fair.
Members volunteer at the Texas Forestry Museum year round.
Fund raising efforts are also conducted year-round to assist students
competing in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association
competition.
Students do not have to compete in rodeos to be members of the club.
All students with an interest in rodeo or a desire to help their
community are encouraged to attend a Rodeo Club meeting.
"Anyone is welcomed to join, even if a student is only taking one
class," said Linda Herring, club sponsor who was one of the first
members of the club.
The Rodeo Club meets every Wednesday in Room 103 in Hudgins Hall from 10:50a.m.-11:25a.m.
