2/6/2008 - Roadrunner Baseball Sweeps Alvin
The Angelina College Roadrunner baseball team enjoyed a road trip to
Alvin on Wednesday, sweeping the Dolphins 15-8 and 10-7 behind solid
plate performances by ‘Runner hitters.
Chris Andreas homered twice in Game 1 on his way to a 4-for-4 effort;
he’d finish four RBIs, with three of those coming on a three-run
homer. Keith Prestridge went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs; and Tim
Emmons added a solo homer and two RBIs.
Nick Huff relieved Frank Corolla to pick the win on the mound.
In the nightcap, Trey Rackel went six innings for the W before giving
way to Chase Hernandez, who earned the save. Matt Thielepape just
missed hitting for the cycle, picking up a single, double and triple
on his way to a 3-for-4 effort. Prestridge added another two hits and
an RBI to his day; and Ryan Mallett blasted a two-run homer and a
double for his three RBIs.
The ‘Runners will play a doubleheader in Galveston on Saturday, with
Game 1 set for a 1 p.m. start.
