Canadian Brass is a dynamic and supremely talented quintet celebrating its
37th season of delighting audiences worldwide. The group didn’t begin as a
serious concert ensemble back in the Toronto of the 1970s, but the
imagination and consummate musicianship of original members Gene Watts
(trombone) and Chuck Daellenback (tuba) elevated the art of the brass
quintet to what it is today. Thanks to its pioneer status, the quintet
developed a unique character and rapport with audiences that has been
emulated by many other ensembles. Canadian Brass masters the gamut of
concert presentations—from formal classical concerts to music served up
with lively dialogue and theatrical effects. No matter the style, the
music is central and performed with utmost dedication and excellence.
This December, enjoy the cornucopia of triumphant and vibrant sounds from
the trumpets, French horn, trombone, and tuba of Canadian Brass, as the
quintet serves up a banquet of jazz, baroque, classical, and holiday
favorites.
