Angelina College Theatre will close their 2007/2008 season with one of
the all-time great stage comedies: “Charley’s Aunt” by Brandon Thomas.
Despite having been around for 116 years, this mixed-up tale of mistaken
identity, cross-dressing undergraduates and classically dysfunctional
family members still generates laughter among attending audiences.
Lufkin’s Justin Walker plays the title role of Charley’s aunt and Lord
Fancourt “Babbs” Barley. Other cast member include Casey Lillie of
Dallardsville (Jack Chesney); Justin Foote of Tomball (Charley Wykeham);
Jonathan Sanford of Pineland (Sir Francis Chesney); Sasha Cruz of
Crockett (Kitty Verdun); Danyelle McClain of Lufkin (Amy Spettigue);
Sharon Lane of Lufkin (Donna Lucia D’Alvadorez); Noel Proctor of
Corrigan (Stephen Spettigue); and Esther McClure of Nacogdoches (Ela
Delahay).
AC Theater Instructor Kary Raine is the director.
AC Theatre will offer three performances at 7:30 p.m. each night of
April 17-19 at the Temple Theater on the Angelina College campus.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for seniors, students and children.
