AC CHORALE, LUFKIN COMMUNITY BAND OFFERING HOLIDAY CONCERT DEC. 2
Fans of holiday music searching for a concert need look no further than
the Angelina College campus, with the Lufkin Community Band and the
Angelina College Chorale offering a performing on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2:30
pm in Temple Theater in the Angelina Center for the Arts.
Its founder, David E. Smith, conducts the Lufkin Community Band while AC
faculty member Beckie Compton leads the Angelina College Chorale.
The theme of the concert will be Christmas music, both Sacred and
Secular. The Chorale will perform first, followed by the Lufkin
Community Band. The Chorale will then join forces with the Community
Band for two closing numbers: From Austria, the moving and gentle
Christmas hymn “Still, Still, Still”; and the spectacular “Christmas
Music for Winds and Voices” written by John Cacavas for the United
States Army Band – “Pershing’s Own” – and the US Army Chorus of
Washington, DC.
Tickets are available at the Box Office in the Angelina Center for the
Arts, and are $4 for adults and $3 for seniors and students. For more
