CLINT BLACK IN CONCERT SEPT 30 & OCT 1
Angelina
Arts Alliance will open its 2007-08 season with the always-memorable
music of country superstar, Clint Black, with performances on Sept. 30
and Oct. 1 at 7:30 pm in the Temple Theater. Tickets for the “Up Close
and Personal” tour go on sale at the Temple Theater box office
(936-633-5454) Aug. 30. Ticket prices for this concert are $18-$25. Box
office hours are weekdays noon to 5:30 pm.
One of country music’s most gifted singer/songwriters, Clint Black,
brings his traditional Texas sounds to Lufkin. The multi-award winning
performer and his outstanding band will play favorites such as “A Better
Man”, “Killin’ Time,” “Nobody’s Home,” “Put Yourself in My Shoes,” and
“Something That We Do,” as well as new songs from his
soon-to-be-released CD, "The Strong One."
Though he has the prestige and the fan base to fill a stadium, Black
says, “While it is definitely a thrill to play large venues in front of
thousands of people, for me, it is an even bigger rush to perform in a
setting as intimate as a theatre. There’s a special element added to a
theatre performance that is unequaled — being able to relate so closely
with the audience.” Opening the show for Clint Black will be Laura Bryna,
a talented singer whom Black personally signed to his Equity Music Group
label. Black says, “The added bonus for me on the “Up Close and
Personal” tour is that I get to introduce Laura to country music fans.
One of the reasons I started Equity was to discover new acts and try to
help make the road to success a little smoother for them.”
Tickets for both performances of Clint Black will go on sale at the
Temple Theatre box office (936-633-5454) Aug. 30. Box Office hours are
weekdays from noon to 5:30 pm.
