Angelina College will host the Conference on Childhood
Education from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22.
Keynote speaker Dr. Thomas Moore will open the sessions at 8 a.m. in the
Temple Theater. Best known for his children’s books and the song “Humpty
Dumpty”, Dr. Moore is nationally recognized as an early childhood
consultant, keynote speaker, workshop leader, and children's recording
artist. He has given more than 800 speeches and workshops in the United
States and abroad. From a keynote address to 1,200 k-12 teachers at
Harvard University, to teacher-training workshops in Denmark, Italy,
Germany, and Nigeria, Dr. Moore is known for creating learning
experiences that educate and encourage teachers.
There will be a wide variety of presentations regarding working with
children from newborns to school age. Those sessions are groomed for
Child Care teachers and directors; Early Childhood educators serving as
paraprofessionals, administrators or teachers; and parents of young
children.
A hot lunch will be available for attendees.
Anyone interested in working with children may register through AC’s
Community Services, or they may register on-line at www.angelina.edu
(click on “Programs”, then “Community Services” and then “Registration
Forms.”) The fee is $30, and the sessions are worth eight Continuing
