USAF CONCERT BAND FREE CONCERT NOV. 3
The United States Air Force Band of the West concert band will give a
free concert on Saturday evening, Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Temple Theater.
Tickets are available, free of charge, at the Temple Theater Box Office
(Mon-Fri, 12:00-5:30) or at The Lufkin Daily News, 300 Ellis (Mon-Fri, 8
a.m.-5 pm).
Based at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, the United States Air
Force (USAF) Band of the West is a musical organization with an
outstanding record of achievement. The Concert Band is the largest
ensemble in the USAF Band of the West, with more than 45 musicians. Its
repertoire consists of music from the Renaissance to the present day and
ranges from serious symphonic band literature to Broadway musicals, from
Sousa marches to today’s popular hits. The airmen assigned to the band
are highly-trained professional musicians who have dedicated themselves
to serving their country through music. The Concert Band has earned a
reputation as one of the finest military concert bands In America.
