The Angelina
Arts Alliance is excited to welcome the extraordinarily talented
musicians and dancers of Jigu! Thunder Drums of China to the Temple
Theater stage on the Angelina College campus, Wednesday, March 19 at
7:30 p.m. Tickets are $27-$35 at the Temple Theater box office
(936-633-5454). Patrons who arrive at the box office at 7 p.m. can
purchase unsold seats for half-price (subject to availability). Box
office hours are weekdays, noon to 5:30 p.m. Show sponsor is Brookshire

The Chinese word “Jigu” translates to “beat or touch the drum”, and this
dynamic company of over two dozen phenomenal drummers, percussionists,
and musicians from the Shanxi province will amaze and delight audiences
with an ultra-sensory entertainment experience.
Formed in 1988, Jigu has toured the world showcasing the fine art of
percussive performance that is so important to the traditional Chinese
culture. Jigu’s appearance in Lufkin marks the ensemble’s very first
visit to Texas since it began touring North America.
With musicians arrayed in dazzlingly colorful costumes, Jigu! Thunder
Drums of China is truly a pageant for the senses, as the thundering
music of the drums can often be felt as well as heard! Tickets for Jigu!
