11/12/2011 - Roadrunners Outrun SFA Club Team

Angelina College’s Roadrunners are showing the potential to become one of the highest-scoring teams in Region XIV, averaging nearly triple digits over their last three wins.

The ‘Runners came up four points shy of the century mark in Saturday’s 96-74 win over the SFA Club Team, with Mike Myers adding yet another double-double to his resume: The sophomore from Camden, New Jersey finished with 26 points and 11 rebounds, giving him four straight games with double figures in scoring and rebounding.

Myers is getting plenty of help: Jesse Anderson sliced his way to a 17-point, six-assist night; Jaylen Daniel added another 17; and Damon Sherman-Newsome added 10 points, three assists and a pair of steals to his totals. LaDerrien Jackson and Jamie Farrie added nine points each.

Marshaun Meadows led the SFA Club Team with 18 points, followed by Rodney Hayward with 16.

The Roadrunners (5-0) will host Tomball College Tuesday night at Shands Gym. Game time is 7 p.m.
