1/21/2012 - Kilgore 61, Roadrunners 48 Once Angelina College’s talented group of freshmen find a way to play the full 40 minutes the way they play at least 20 of them, they’re going to be hard to beat. For now, the learning process continues to be a frustrating one for a team putting out maximum effort – and reaping less than the desired results. The Roadrunners raced out to a 25-8 lead to open Saturday’s game against Kilgore, holding the Rangers to two points over the game’s first eight minutes. But once the Rangers got things headed their way, there was no stopping them the rest of the way. Kilgore (12-4, 4-2) outscored the Roadrunners 40-20 in the second half to keep AC winless at 0-7 in Region XIV play. Mike Myers led the ‘Runners with 18 points. Frank Snow was the only other AC player in double figures with 11. Kilgore’s Travis Betran led the Rangers with 19 points. Braylon Lazare came off the bench to add 13 points in just over 20 minutes of action. AC (9-9, 0-7) will host Tyler College at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night.
