1/25/2012 - Tyler 62, Roadrunners 57

The Roadrunners got a couple of big sparks off the bench from Jamie Farrie and Hudson alumnus J’Lexius Davis to erase a 12-point Tyler lead with under 11 minutes to play, but a couple of late Apache three pointers were just enough to take a 62-57 win at Shands Gymnasium in Lufkin.

Davis and Farrie teamed up for several big defensive plays to start the Roadrunners on a 16-4 run – LaDerrien Jackson and Jaylen Daniel hit two three pointers each in that span – to tie the game at 50-50 with three minutes to play. Jackson’s free throws gave the ‘Runners a short-lived lead, but after a pair of treys from Tyler’s Trent Washington, that was that.

Frank Snow and Mike Myers scored 15 points each to lead AC, with Jackson finishing with 12 points. Snow added nine rebounds, three blocks and three steals to his totals.

Washington was the only Apache in double figures with 14 points, as Tyler moved to 11-6, 4-4 on the season.

AC (9-10, 0-8) will travel to Paris on Saturday.
