CSI On-Campus: Angelina College Hosting Gear-Up Program with Investigative Theme

There’s going to be a mystery in need of solving on the Angelina College campus next week, and it will take a team of student investigators to find the answers.

AC will host a GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs) session with a CSI (Career, Service and Industry) theme beginning on Monday, June 16 and ending on Thursday, June 19. Sessions run from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day.

A group of 70 10th graders from the Lufkin, Hudson, Central, Woden and Nacogdoches school districts will be on-hand for the experience. Angelina College, in conjunction with Stephen F. Austin University, will employ the camp to introduce those students to a hands-on experience in Workforce and Health Career areas based on House Bill 5 and Achieve Texas career clusters.

Over those four days, students will be asked to determine the cause of an automobile accident. They will gather clues through sessions in Surgical Technology, Automotive/Diesel Technology, Welding/Electrical and Police/Fire academies.
