Graphic Arts Students Exhibiting Works

Students from several Angelina College graphic arts classes will display their semester’s work in an exhibition opening Tuesday, Nov. 1 and running through Nov. 16 in the Angelina Center for the Arts Gallery.

A reception for the artists will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. on Nov. 1.

Artists participating include students from various graphic arts courses taught by Libby Stapleton, Jan Anderson-Paxson, Reginald Reynolds and Steve Paul.

The Editing and Layout class is a beginning graphic design class in which the students learn the basics, such as the history of design, typography, the principles of design, and how to use Adobe InDesign Creative Suite’s software in their designs. The students begin with very simple designs, such as a booklet cover and a résumé. The projects get progressively harder during the semester as they build on the skills learned in the previous projects until, at the end of the semester, the students are designing a four-page newsletter and a tri-fold brochure.
