P.L.O.T.S. PROFESSIONAL LOGGING OPERATOR TRAINING SCHOOL

The program of (287 hours) will consist of both classroom study 6PM-9PM and outdoor study 7AM-4PM offered at the Nacogdoches Martin Center of Angelina College (302 Hughes St.). The program will give the core competencies necessary to work for a logging contractor to efficiently maintain and operate all equipment used in a logging operation. Students will learn to drive heavy equipment including a skidder, loader, and feller buncher and fully participate in all aspects of timber harvesting. Students will be introduced during class to area logging contractors who will speak about jobs available and will have the assistance of Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas to prepare job applications and interviews.
Drug testing will be required for entry into class and will be conducted also at random during the classroom and outdoor portions of the program. Financial assistance will be available through Workforce Solutions (WIA) and the financial aid office of Angelina College (TPEG).

The cost of the program per student will be $3,900.00 plus $120 for drug testing. Two information sessions for the general public will be held 6-7pm on Monday July 14 and Thursday July 31 at the Nacogdoches Martin Center.
