12/9/2009 - ‘Runners Fall in OT: Blinn 83, Roadrunner 81 (OT) Blinn’s Kahlil McDonald finished Wednesday’s game against Angelina College with 34 points – but his last bucket did the most damage. McDonald hit a fall away jumper with 1.3 seconds remaining in overtime, lifting the Bucs to an 83-81 win and handing the Roadrunners their first loss in conference play. McDonald scored his team’s last four points after teammate Deuce Nichols’ three pointer tied the game at 79-79 with 1:35 to play. AC’s Joe Mitchell scored on a put back to give the ‘Runners two-point lead at 1:03; but hit two free throws before nailing the game winner. AC’s Takoby Jackson finished with 20 points to lead the Roadrunners, now 8-6, 3-1 on the season. Ron Steward added 18, and Adrick McKinney and Trent Brantley finished with 12 points each. Blinn sent the game to overtime by erasing a five-point deficit in the final 26 seconds of regulation. Buc guard Jarrell Mills hit a one-hander with three ticks on the clock to send the contest to an extra frame. The Roadrunners will play again on Monday, Jan. 4th against Richland.
