Visual Arts Exhibition Begins Nov. 22 Angelina College Visual Arts Majors will exhibit their works from Nov. 22 to Dec. 7 in the Angelina Center for the Arts Gallery on the Angelina College campus. The Fine Arts Division will honor the students with a public reception in the Gallery on Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 6 p.m. till 7:30 p.m. Regular Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday – Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. The ACA Gallery is free and open to the public. This exhibition consists of works by students in Mrs. Robbie Roach’s Printmaking Class and Mr. Richard Carnley’s Basic Drawing and Basic Design classes. Printmaking students will exhibit Linocuts, Woodcuts, Etchings and Book Arts. The Book Arts is a relatively new art form that has taken significance in recent decades, attracting printmakers, sculptors and painters alike. When designing a unique book, the artist must consider how to design for the combination of image and text while making the actual book form pertinent to the message he or she wishes to convey. Basic Drawing students will show drawings in various styles, media and subject matter, including Still Life, Perspective, and Chiaroscuro. Basic Design students are given specific design problems to solve and will exhibit their solutions as Collage Designs, Paintings and other media. Printmaking students participating in the show include Mireya Aguilar, Joslyn Angton, Amanda Dill, Julio Flores, Sarah Howton, Audriana Lookingbill, Megan McConnell, Shelby Ricks and Rachel White. Basic Drawing students exhibiting works are Phil Alamo, Miguel Alonso, Joslyn Angton, Tracy Bell, Kathryn Brookshire, Jonathan Clos, Marcus Curl, Amanda Dill, Meagan Emerson, Jessica Gerlach, Dona Gibbs, Katherine Greer, Lindsay Hill, Karen Machain, Vicente Marrero, Elizabeth Martinez, Genoveva Pasillas, Omar Perez, Lindsey Satterwhite, Ryan Tanner, Adrian Torres and Rachel White.
