Auto Technology

The increased complexity of motor vehicles has brought about new demands for service personnel with a very high level of technical knowledge and skill. The Automotive Technology curriculum prepares the graduate for entry-level employment in vehicle diagnosis and maintenance work.

The Automotive Technology program offers the student an option in the length of time taken to complete the Certificate. A student may complete
the program in either one or two years.

Basic vehicle theory and principles are taught in the classroom to give
the student an understanding of how mechanical components function and why they fail. Actual shop practices are simulated to train the student to utilize appropriate safety procedures, show how to make repairs, diagnose, replace and adjust components.

The Automotive Technology courses must be taken in a lecture/lab concurrently.

Accreditation Statement
