Machine Tool Technology Program

The Machine Tool Career Pathway takes students through an extensive college credit program that includes:

  • Basic Manual Machining
  • Intermediate Machine Tools
  • Advanced Machine Tools
  • Computer Numerical Control machines

The program contains two certificates and one associate degree. 
They are:

  • Certificate of Completion - Machine Operator
  • Certificate of Completion - Operator
    Numerical Control Machine Operator
  • Associate of Applied Science Degree - Machine Tool
    Technology

Accreditation Statement
The Machine Tool Technology program at Angelina College is accredited by the Texas Higher Education Board and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Technology
Modern machine tools equip a machine tools lab that was created with the assistance of local companies. Specialized tooling and machines are contributed by national and international companies. High tech computer software programs are used to generate machine products in a controlled
manufacturing setting.

Job Opportunities
Graduates are employed in the local area in manufacturing plants and medium to small custom machine shops. Others find employment in the maintenance shops of manufacturing plants.

Placement Rate & Salaries
The placement rate for completers of the degree program exceeds 100 percent for the past three years. Starting wages vary according to type, size and geographic location of the industry and the experience of the graduate. Wage information is available on request.

Journeyman Machinist

This advanced curriculum provides the skills, principles and applications for a Journeyman Machinist. The advanced skills will concentrate on computer numerically controlled (CNC) machining and turning centers. Completion of The Associate of Applied Science in Machine Tool Technology is prerequisite for enrollment.
