Spring 2007 Child & Family Development Conference Registration

Child & Family Development Program

The Child and Family Development Program offers students the opportunity to explore the world of children from conception to adolescence.

The curriculum is designed to provide academic care and guidance of small children with emphasis on the importance and needs for early childhood
education and day care of children.

This program is not to be confused with the Elementary Education Program
in the Liberal Arts Division which leads to the bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.

Criteria for Child Development Courses:

1. Must provide a current clear TB test.
2. Must meet minimum standards from the criminal history and central registry background check requirements per the Minimum Standards for Day Care Centers
3. Must have completed affidavit for applicants for employment with a child-care facility or registered family home on file in the Child & Family Development program office.
4. Must attend the pre-service training the first week of the first semester of enrollment.
5. Must attend all Lab Orientation meetings at the beginning, middle, and end of each semester for all courses with required labs.
6. Must comply with all other Child and Family Development requirements as identified in the course syllabi, or required by the instructor in writing (i.e.; lab smock, student id., etc.)
7. Must serve all labs at Buckner Family Place on Angelina College campus. An
exception is made in the case of a student working full-time, at least 30 hours, at a licensed day care center. The student must have an immediate supervisor.

The Child and Family Development program at Angelina College is accredited by the Texas Higher Education Board and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
