The Success Essay exams are developed by the AC English faculty and designed to assess writing samples of students enrolled in English 0310 and 0320. There is no cost to take the Success Essay Exam.

Students will be asked to prepare a multiple paragraph writing sample of about 300-600 words on an assigned topic.

Students will be assessed on their ability to express, organize, and support opinions and ideas, rather than on the position they express. Students who earn a passing score AND who earn at least a C in their current developmental English class will satisfy the TSI requirements.

To register for the Success Essay complete the following steps:

• Obtain a signed Testing Request form from your English 0310 or 0320 instructor.
• Take the Testing Request form to the Jasper Higher Education and Technology Center located at 450 Bulldog Avenue, Jasper, TX 75951 to make your reservation for the next available test date.
• Read and follow the directions on the admission ticket.  Report to the Jasper Testing Center on the day of your test.
