Angelina College will host a youth baseball camp June 11-13, 9 a.m. until noon each day at the Larry Phillips Family Sports Complex. Participants should bring a glove, cleats, pants, bat and helmet. The cost is $100. The camp is open to players ages 6-12.
This camp is designed to teach the fundamentals, drills and skills of the game.
AC Head Baseball Coach Jeff Livin and Assistant Coach Adam Massiatte will lead the camp. Livin is entering his 22nd year of coaching and has accomplished more than 700 career wins, averaging 30 wins each season. He has had more than 40 players selected selected in the major league draft, and four former Roadrunners earned spots on major league rosters in 2015.
Massiatte is entering his third season at AC after spending nine years as a head coach in the high school ranks. While head coach at St. Pius X High School, his teams won two state championships (2009 and 2013) and finished as state finalists in 2013. St. Pius won district championship in 2011 and 2012, earning Massiatte the 2012 Private School Coach of the Year award. His teams were nationally ranked for two straight years.
