Hispanic Heritage Month 2022 Events

During this month, we honor the culture and contributions of both Hispanic and Latin Americans to the United States and the world.
This year’s theme is “Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation.”

SEPT 15: Roadrunner Fiesta

Angelina College is kicking off the National Hispanic Heritage events with a Roadrunner Fiesta!

Local Spanish Radio Station Juan 94.7 will broadcast live from our main campus to promote AC services and the month’s events. Raffle will take place to give away T-shirts and AC swag. Departments will hand out informational materials to students and guests. Kick off art and essay contests.

SEPT 20: Movie Night - Adios Amor (Goodbye Love)

In ADIOS AMOR, the discovery of lost photographs sparks the search for a hero that history forgot – Maria Moreno, a migrant mother who sacrificed everything but her twelve kids in the passionate pursuit of justice for farmworkers. Maria Moreno was the first farm worker woman in America to be hired as a union organizer. Screening will be followed by a panel discussion.

This event is intended for Angelina College students, faculty and staff only.
