The Arizona native will share his investigation of personal and cultural relationships to technology and how it affects the observation, understanding, and transformation of the world.
Mann creates traditional-looking tabletop arrangements from discarded tech and then photographs them as still lifes. Using a combination of traditional photographic approaches, 3D scanning, and removal of temporary photogrammetry software files, he then creates a digital image that distorts and reconstructs the original scene.
The final images provide fluidity and conversation between computer vision and human vision. Mann is currently an Associate Professor of Photography at The University of North Texas and is represented by Galleri Urbane in Dallas, TX. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree from Arizona State University.
