Concert in San Antonio Features Students from Throughout Texas

Four Angelina College Choir students have qualified to participate in the upcoming Texas Two-Year College All-State Choir event scheduled to take place on Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.
Second-year choir members Lachlan Carnley (Lufkin), Landon Elliott (Pineland) and Samantha Burns (Lufkin) will perform, as will third-year choir student Valeria Bonilla (Lufkin). Those performers auditioned in November.
The concert, in conjunction with the Texas Music Educator’s Association, features nearly 170 choir students from community colleges located throughout the state. Conductor for the performance will be Dr. Lynne Gackle of Baylor University, and the students will be in rehearsals Wednesday through Friday before Saturday’s big performance.
Angelina College’s Choir is under the direction of Beckie Compton, Chair of AC’s School of Visual and Performing Arts.
