Hiring FAQ

Does Angelina College run a criminal background check?

Before an official offer of employment is made, a complete criminal history, background, and reference check will be conducted.

Does the College sponsor employment or work visas from non U.S. citizens?

For an applicant to be considered for employment at Angelina College, they must be a citizen of the United States or have the legal right to work in the United States.

What is the typical time frame for the hiring process?

There is not a set time frame for the hiring process. Jobs are posted a minimum of 14 days and the hiring process may take anywhere from a few weeks up to a few months, depending on the extent of the candidate search and various other factors. Once the Hiring Committee has reviewed the applications and selected the candidates for interviews, HR will then contact the candidates to schedule interviews. All positions are subject to review and may or may not be filled at the discretion of the College.

Is my application automatically sent to other jobs I might be qualified for?

Applications are kept on file for 2 years from the original application date. A new application is required for each position for which you would like to be considered. You may contact HR to attach previously submitted transcripts, but all other required documents must be submitted with each application completed.

When will I hear the results of the review of my application?

Applicants selected to be interviewed will be contacted to schedule an interview. Applicants not chosen for an interview or not chosen for employment post-interview will be sent an email message if a valid email address has been listed on the online application. If no email address is provided, you will not receive a response from AC.

There is no job posting that I am qualified to apply for at this time. May I send in a general resume or "open" application?

Applications can only be submitted for posted, open positions. No unsolicited applications or resumes are accepted.

Can I send the application by email?

Only applications complete through the AC Portal are accepted.

I am not able to complete the application online. What do I need to do?

Contact HR by phone at 936-633-4511 or by email at hr@angelina.edu for assistance. For technical issues, contact the AC IT Helpdesk by phone at 936-633-4508 or by email at ITHelpdesk@angelina.edu.

I sent my application by mail or fax. Will you tell me if you've received it?

Only online applications are accepted. We will not respond to requests concerning receipt of application packets not submitted through the AC Portal.

The job posting has closed, can I still submit my application?

Any applications (including required documents) received after the job posting has closed will not be considered.

How long is my application kept on file at Angelina College?

All applications are kept on file for two years.

Do I have to include official transcripts?

Unofficial transcripts or copies will be acceptable for the application process. However, once a candidate is offered a position, official transcripts will be required. Transcripts are only considered official if they are sent from the college or university attended directly to Angelina College, Vice President of Academic Affairs, 3500 S. First Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904 or via email to the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Is a resume accepted in lieu of an application?

A completed online application is required before for any applicant to be considered. An application is not considered complete without the required documents as listed in the job posting. This could include a resume, but a resume alone, will not be considered.

I submitted an application, but could not attach the required documents, will my application be considered?

An application is not complete without the receipt of the required documents. If you are unable to attach the required documents to the application, you may submit them via email to hr@angelina.edu. An application will not be considered until it is complete. If the required documents are not received in a timely manner, your application may not be considered at all.

The hiring process for any and all positions is subject to change.
