Investment Will Sustain Core Workforce Education Programs and Strengthen the Regional Talent Pipeline
LUFKIN, Texas — Angelina College has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Eaton Charitable Foundation in support of its workforce education programs. The grant will help sustain the core operations that make career and technical training possible—from instruction and program delivery to student support services and equipment—ensuring that students in Deep East Texas have access to the high-quality, job-ready education they need to succeed.
Angelina College plays a central role in developing local talent for regional employers, serving students at every stage of their career journey—from first-time job seekers to working adults building new skills. Through career and technical education programs, workforce training, and industry-aligned coursework, the college prepares graduates for the in-demand jobs that keep the East Texas economy moving.
The Eaton Charitable Foundation’s investment reflects a shared commitment to workforce development and community prosperity. Eaton Corporation’s Cooper Power Systems Division, located in Nacogdoches, is among the regional employers that rely on a skilled, trained workforce—making this partnership a natural extension of the relationship between Angelina College and the manufacturing industry it serves.
Grant funds will be applied to essential operating costs that directly support workforce program quality, including instructional delivery, equipment, supplies, and student services that help learners stay on track and complete their training. By investing in these foundational elements, the grant helps more students earn credentials and transition into meaningful employment—strengthening the talent pipeline that benefits students, employers, and the broader community alike.
“We are deeply grateful to the Eaton Charitable Foundation for its investment in Angelina College’s workforce programs,” Dr. Esther Campbell, Assistant Vice Principal of Academic Affairs at AC, said. “This support strengthens the connection between education and industry by helping students gain the skills needed for meaningful careers while supporting the workforce demands of regional employers.”
