The Electrical Lineworker program prepares students for entry-level careers in electrical linework through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on field training. Students learn electrical theory, equipment operation, and industry safety standards while gaining practical experience using tools and equipment in realistic training environments. Graduates are prepared to meet workforce demands in Deep East Texas and pursue high-demand careers in the electrical utility industry.

Admissions Criteria

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Proof of a valid Texas driver’s license
  • Clean driving record

Prerequisites

  • Prerequisites to enter the program as a Level 1 certificate major include a high school diploma or GED. Entrance testing is not required. 
  • Students who have a high school diploma or GED may also enter the program as associate degree (AAS) students. TSI entrance scores are required.
