Public Safety programs offer students the chance to gain employment or promotion within public or private agencies which maintain public safety, prevent crime, apprehend or rehabilitate criminals, and insure social welfare. Individuals will learn practical and cognitive skills required to effectively and safely protect citizens.

The Basic Structural Firefighter program is physically demanding as well as academically challenging. The Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) strongly recommends that all students be able to read and comprehend on at least a 10th-grade reading level in order to complete this fast-paced academic program.
