Angelina College’s two-year program will provide a learning environment that ensures high levels of respiratory care competence and confidence in patient care skills, critical thinking, and clinical judgement. Students will gain hands-on experience in a variety of settings that include acute/post-acute adult critical care, medical/surgical floor, neonatal intensive care unit, high-risk delivery room settings, many different diagnostic settings, and our state of the art simulation lab. Where they will learn to diagnose lung/breathing disorders and recommend treatments, manage ventilators and artificial airway devices, respond to code blues, consult with physicians to recommend changes in therapy, and analyze arterial blood gas specimens to manage therapy. The student will earn an Associate in Applied Science degree in Respiratory Care that will qualify them to sit for their national board examinations. This program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
